Last Night in Denali and Back to Anchorage

Wednesday morning we packed up Allen Cornelison's truck, enjoyed these last views from Wendy's house and headed back to Anchorage.

Here's a photo of Wendy's house with Wendy on the porch.

On the way back to Anchorage, we made a side trip in to the town of Talkeetna.  We came to the Ranger Station for a quick visit to see Dave's friend Julia.

We also stopped by the Talkeetna Roadhouse to see the owner and Dave's friend Trisha, but unfortunately she wasn't around.

Thursday morning we went to Kincaid Park in Anchorage and did a walk along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.  During the walk we came across this female Moose.

That afternoon we drove up to the Flattop Mt. parking lot in Chugach State Park to get a view of the city.

That evening we met Dave's friend Maggie for dinner at Crush, a wonderful wine bar downtown.  Maggie hired Dave for his first job in Denali back in 1988.

The bar in Crush had these cool overhead lights made out of wine bottles.
