Moholoholo Wildlife Rehab Centre, A Shangann Village, Blyde River Canyon and Heading Home

After leaving Kruger, we visited the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehab Centre.  They take on animals who are injured, abandoned or have been poisoned.  We spent a couple of hours here checking out some of the animals they currently are taking care of.

Here's a baby Black Rhino that came running past us.... too cute!!!

Dave got to feed a Vulture from his hand.

Some Wild Dogs

After Moholoholo we drove to a Shangaan Village where we spent the night.  Here we ate a traditional African dinner (we passed on trying the worms), enjoyed their cultural dancing and slept in one of their huts.  We weren't sure what to expect when we pulled in, but we ended up having a good time.

At one point everyone had to get involved in the dancing.  Here's Kelly wearing an Impala skin.

We slept on a mattress on the floor in this hut on the left.

The next morning we headed back to Johannesburg and the final leg of our journey. On the way we passed some amazing scenery like these beautiful mountains as we climbed from the lowveld to the highveld.

We also stopped to check out the Blyde River Canyon.  This canyon is the 3rd deepest canyon in the world and the deepest "green" canyon as the other two are in desert regions.  Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy while we were there.

After returning to Johannesburg we spent three nights there in the suburb of Melville and enjoyed sleeping in a bed and eating at the wonderful restaurants in the area.
The evening of March 27th we started the long journey back to the States.  Here we are enjoying the Air France Lounge at the Johannesburg Airport.

Here's the Airbus 380 we took from Johannesburg to Paris.  This was an incredible ride!

If you've made it this far and feel like you would like to see even more photos them come on over to the house....we have hundreds more!!!
