Our Trip to Reno

Friday June 26th we left for Reno to attend the wedding reception of our friends Liisa & Patrick. While we were down that far we decided to make a little vacation of it by visiting Napa Valley and the Redwoods since Kelly had never been to either place.

We were gone for a week and covered 1,515 miles.

Here's a shot of a Lake in California as we were driving down highway 139. It was surrounded by these beautiful yellow flowers. Friday night Liisa & Patrick hosted a pizza party at Eclipse Pizza for all their out of town guests.

After dinner we went downtown where Controlled Burn, a local fire spinning group had set up props they had used at Burning Man a few years ago.

This photo is of a Celtic Book made of metal which is 16 feet tall. Notice the flames coming out the top below the birds.
This is a 16' page from the book made with huge sheets of steel.
There were various fire trees around the display.

Downtown Reno has really changed over the years. It's not all about the casinos any more and it's actually quite pretty along the river.
Kelly took the next three photos, which shows some of the beauty of downtown.
