Dave Got Stuck

Kelly wanted to put these photos on the blog from last month when Dave got the work truck stuck out at the runway.

It was about 2 am and Dave had to drive someone out to meet a plane returning from the South Pole Station with some Ice Core samples.

These samples are extremely delicate and must be taken to the Ice Core Handling Facility as soon as they arrive.

After retrieving the samples Dave drove in a spot which wasn't compacted and ended up getting the truck stuck. The loader that came to pull him out got stuck as well. It took a second loader, which was lighter weight to get the other loader and the truck pulled out. Fortunately it was a cold enough night that the samples were fine due to the short delay.
