Bend's Gay Pride Event

Yesterday was Bend's fouth annual Gay Pride Event. It was at the first event in 2005 where we first met.

We spent some time helping the Human Rights Campaign set up their booth and worked with them a bit.

We also enjoying visiting with friends throughout the day and listening to some live music.

Portland's Rose Garden and Schneiders Iris Farm

Before we left for home on Sunday afternoon we stopped by the Rose Garden.

There were a lot of people milling around and enjoying the beautiful sunny afternoon and the numerous varieties of roses grown there.
Here's a shot of the beautiful view of the city and Mt. Hood from the Rose Garden.

On the drive back home we also stopped by Schneider's Iris Farm just north of Salem.

We enjoyed walking through their flower gardens where they had a large variety of flowers.

Summer Activities

Last week we spent a few hours with Sarah and the twins shopping for planter pots and flowers. She wanted some flower pots to spruce up their back patio. Here she had Kelly are picking out some flowers

Last weekend we went to Portland and stayed with our friend Brian on Saturday night. We did some shopping on Saturday and Sunday was Portland's Pride Parade. Here's Kelly with Wade & Brian waiting for the parade to begin.
Here's Sam Adams in the parade. He was just elected as Portlands next Mayor and is also openly gay. We met him at a brunch prior to the parade.

More Random Photos

We haven't had much of a spring here in Central Oregon this year. It's been about 20 degrees colder than normal and we've had quite a bit of rain & wind. We're happy for the nice days we do get and that we were finally able to get some flowers in our pots.

This past weekend we had some nice sunny days and enjoyed the fact that our weekly free outdoor concerts started at the Les Schwab Amphitheatre. We can usually be found there every Sunday afternoon enjoying the music in the sun.

Here's Kelly, Sarah & Mike with the twins at the amphitheater.

Random Picture When Not Much is Going On

There hasn't been a whole lot going on worth posting about, but we thought we would share a few photos of some things we have been doing.

After much discussion, we painted our bedroom last week. The wall color is Sherwin Williams Yearling and we painted the section around the fireplace Burnished Brandy. We were happy with the final results after seven hours of painting

A few weeks ago we had our friends Mike & Sarah over for dinner and their four month old twins Gunnar & Lily. They just moved here in April from Texas. Here's Dave holding Lily.
Here's Mike feeding Gunnar.
